Area 23a was founded on the concept of "value added cinema," and has initiated its program of "movievents" with national releases of "American Harmony," a film about barbershop quartet competitions that has been paired with live singing performances, "The Mighty Uke" a feature-length documentary about the evolution of the ukulele, screenings of which have been followed by live performances by uke virtuoso James Hill, and "Best Worst Movie," which documents the making of, and fall-out from, TROLL 2, widely considered among the worst movies ever made. Engagements of "Best Worst Movie" have been preceded by TROLL 2 screenings and costume parties.
